Gift of Stock or Mutual Fund

If you are seeking a tax-efficient way to contribute, consider donating appreciated stock or mutual funds that you have held for more than one year. This type of gift allows you to avoid capital gains taxes and may qualify for a charitable income tax deduction, provided you itemize your deductions. To get started, contact josefa@artseed.org.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

If you are age 70½ or older, you may also take advantage of a tax-efficient way to support ArtSeed from your IRA. You can contribute up to $100,000 per year directly to ArtSeed, a qualified nonprofit organization, without incurring income taxes on the transferred amount.

QCDs can count toward satisfying an individual’s required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year, which is the minimum amount an individual must withdraw from their IRA each year once they reach age 73. To get started, contact josefa@artseed.org.

Planned Giving

As you reflect on the legacy you wish to leave behind, we invite you to consider supporting ArtSeed in its mission to provide transformative and enduring arts experiences that enrich lives for generations to come.

Gift in a Will or Trust

One meaningful way to contribute is by including a bequest of any size to ArtSeed in your will or trust. To assist with this process, ArtSeed has partnered with FreeWill, a secure and free online tool that enables you to create a will or trust in as little as 20 minutes. You can use this online tool on its own, or use it to document your wishes before finalizing your plans with an attorney.

Beneficiary Designations

Non-probate assets—those not included in your will—offer a powerful and flexible way to support ArtSeed’s future. By naming ArtSeed as a beneficiary of one of these assets, you can make a lasting impact beyond your lifetime. Common examples include:

  • IRAs
  • 401(k)s
  • Life insurance policies
  • Jointly held real estate
  • Joint bank accounts
  • Jointly owned property

These assets offer several advantages: they may qualify for an estate tax charitable deduction, reduce the tax burden on your family, and allow you to retain full use of the assets during your lifetime. Most importantly, they allow you to create a legacy that reflects your values and commitment to the arts. FreeWill provides step-by-step guidance to help you designate ArtSeed as a beneficiary of non-probate assets with clarity and confidence.
